Dear list,
In 1808 or thereabouts, John Taylor, the engineer of the Tavistock Canal, invented a ventilating machine for use in the canal tunnel, which had difficulties of ventilation after blasting. I believe an article about it and a picture of it was published about that time in the Transactions of the Society of Arts. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of this or any other related invention of his?
