The History of Technology Summer Event to be held at University College,
London
from 2-3 July 2004, has been held by the Institution of Electrical
Engineers for
31 years and addresses the broad area of the History of Electrical
Engineering.
As 2004 is the centenary of the invention of the thermionic valve by
John Ambrose Fleming of UCL and the 150th anniversary of the formation
of the Atlantic Telegraph Company the main themes
will be the historical aspects of electronics, submarine telegraphy and
telephony equipment. However papers on all aspects of the history of
electrical engineering and related topics are welcome.
