Data Editor (National Inventory Research Project)
Two days per week, fixed term position until 31 March 2007
We are seeking an experienced Data Editor who will be required to manage and edit the flow of picture cataloguing data produced as a result of research into pre-1900 Continental European paintings in the collections of U.K. regional museums, undertaken as part of the National Inventory Research Project.
You will be educated to degree level, preferably with a degree in art history and a post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject is desirable. Substantial experience in using databases including Microsoft Access, within a university, museum or art historical environment is essential. You will also posses the ability to work within a multi-centred project, with staff distributed across the U.K., as well as the ability to deal with a wide range and changing team of people. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The project is a partnership between Birkbeck College, the University of Glasgow, the Arts and Humanities Data Service and the Public Catalogue Foundation.
Salary range: £21,836 - £31,504 pa pro rata inc. dependent on experience and qualifications.
