PS. Keep a look out for information about the Singapore Government
Metadata Standards (SGMS) project which should start to have some
visibility in the next year. We have been working with HP on this
project to develop both a metadata and taxonomy standard very much like
those in other Commonwealth countries.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT AND METADATA WORKSHOP TO BE HELD IN BRUSSELS, 13 JANUARY 2005
Content Management and Metadata is the subject of a free workshop to be held in Brussels at the CEN Meeting Centre on 13 January 2005. Registration is now open, but limited to the first 60 people.
The workshop will focus on metadata and enterprise content management systems (ECMS). There will be presentations by experts, implementation case studies, demonstrations by ECMS vendors, and Q&A with the speakers.
Some important questions that will be addressed include:
- How do ECMS automate the process of applying metadata to content?
- What metadata tools are being used to create and maintain metadata in ECMS?
- How can metadata values be controlled using standard vocabularies in ECMS?
- How can the Dublin Core metadata schema be extended in ECMS?
