University, College & Research Group (South West) Present:
DARTS - Discover Academic Research Training & Support - Summer 2005
Conference.
This is a two-day residential conference on libraries supporting research
in Higher Education. It is aimed at university librarians and library
managers who are actively engaged in supporting research communities. The
conference will address a broad range of issues relating to how libraries
can best support academics and researchers across an ever-changing
educational environment. The conference boasts a diverse range of speakers
from a plethora of organisations and backgrounds and should be of interest
to anyone in the academic library community. Topics to be addressed include
institutional repositories, research support projects, and RAE data
collection.
The conference is being hosted by Dartington College of Arts at Dartington
Hall, a 14th Century Manor House on a 1500-acre estate in the heart of
South Devon. Accommodation is provided around Dartington’s medieval
courtyard with dinner and breakfast in the beamed dining rooms of the Hall.
Tours of the 40-acre gardens by Beatrix Farrand are included in the
conference and local wines, ales and ciders will be available from The
White Hart: Dartington’s own bar which was recently placed in the Top 10
gastropubs in Britain.
