An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Library Assistant: Technical Support Officer based at the Royal Free Medical Library, Hampstead (within
UCL Library Services). The postholder's main responsibility will be the day to day management of the Medical Library's computing facilities,
including hardware and software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. The postholder will also be expected to deal with computer
related queries from users of the computer facilities. This is a practical, service orientated post suited to someone with an in-depth knowledge of
current hardware, software and networking support.
The successful candidate will have a good track record of working with people in a technical support role, an in-depth knowledge of Windows XP
Professional and legacy Windows operating systems and the ability to diagnose hardware and software faults. Experience of supporting
computing services in a UK higher education institution and experience of Library-related applications would be an advantage.
Salary within the CRA5 range £20,629-£23,603 per annum inclusive of London Weighting. In addition, Library Services offers a generous leave
allowance.
