I agree with you on this one! I submitted my application to Charter in July
2003, finally had an interview 28th Jan 04, the board met 29th March and a
month later I was still waiting to hear. I telephoned CILIP to find out
whats going on and they said my application wasn't seen at the board
meeting. They said there is no guarantee it will be seen at the next board
meeting on 23rd June! My pay rise depends on me chartering, so I have been
stuck at the bottom of the school librarian's pay scale for over a year
(since single status came in), with no hope of decent money until I get my
chartership. Its also ruining my chances of getting another job, because
everyone wants chartered librarians these days.
