Following on from this thread people may find the Quill Mouse and click-less software useful for reducing RSI: the quill mouse design puts far less strain on your wrist and the software helps reduce repetitive mouse clicking.

Subject: Re: RSI
further to this i have found for my own rsi that along with the keyboard wrist support a mouse mat with a support pad AND a tracker ball mouse instead of an ordinary one have worked wonders, and i certainly notice when i am not using them! A collegue learned to use 'mouse keys' and short cuts instead of the mouse also, but this is only practical if one person is at that station as it disables the mouse for other users.

Speaking from personal experience..
Wrist rests (long fabric or gel covered platforms) can be placed algonside the keyboard to rest the wrists, a mouse pad may also be used.
You can also spread the load more effectively across both wrists by using the unaffected wrist to type properly. The main reason people seem to get RSI is due to arching their wrist while typing, i.e. holding the hand at a severe angle with the fingers raised over the edge of the keyboard. The entire arm and wrist should be at the same angle (stretching down from the torso), changing this pattern can really help prevent worsening RSI.
Since then I've assessed other staff for seating and posture in my Health & Safety role, it's important to follow the Health & Safety Executive guides, since poor seating or posture can cause RSI, eyestrain etc.
Let me know if you need more info, I can provide you with more links and HSE details.
