Salary Scale: £31,421 - £35,367
Following the promotion of the current post holder to a major university
library, Newman College of Higher Education is seeking an experienced and
committed information professional to be responsible for the Library and
Learning Services and to manage the College’s Learning Centre. This is a
key post at a dynamic time for the College and will provide exciting and
rewarding opportunities at a senior level for the right candidate.
The Head of Library and Learning Services has overall responsibility for
the strategic development and co-ordination of learning resources and
learning support services within the College. These include Library,
Learning Technology and Learning Services. The post holder also has
operational responsibility for the services provided in the Learning Centre.
Applicants should be educated to degree level and be a qualified,
experienced Librarian, have significant successful experience of supporting
teaching and learning in a higher education environment; be adaptable and
resourceful in meeting conflicting priorities and have the leadership and
communications skills to manage people and change effectively. The Head of
Library and Learning Services will also be a member of the senior
management team.
