I've just been catching up with this, as I was off on Friday.
We find here that some students can't be bothered to look, it
seems - there will be half a shelf full of one title, with a short Dewey
number, and when you take them to the shelf, they say "Oh, I
wasn't looking there" ! Some people find it difficult to understand
that if you get the last half of a sequence on a top shelf, the first
half will be on the bottom shelf of the bay before.
Mind you, we also get students who you know full well are not new
first years who do not understand the concept of alphabetical order
when you tell them that the journals are kept in alphabetical order
of title. Then you worry !
