Oxford University Library Services: RFI for Replacement Library
Management System
The University of Oxford is seeking expressions of interest from
suitably experienced and qualified firms wishing to be considered for
inclusion on the List of Tenderers for the a contract to supply, install
and maintain a replacement to the current integrated library management
system. The procurement will follow the EU Public Procurement
guidelines for restricted procedures. A contract notice was dispatched
to the EU Official Journal 10:00 Monday 1 November, 2004.
The replacement system must be maintain the existing high functionality
in day-to-day operations, and especially in local developments such as
the closed stack request capability, and will also have the ability to
integrate closely with the University's new administrative systems, the
Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and a broad electronic information
environment. Additional functionality is also required in the
replacement system, in areas such as electronic resource management
(ERM), OpenURL resolution and portal solutions. Suppliers are invited
to submit responses to the RFI for a fully integrated library management
system (LMS), an electronic resource management system (ERMS), OpenURL
resolver and portal solution. No other LMS modules may be tendered for
separately other than the ERMS, OpenURL resolver and portal.
Prospective suppliers who wish to be considered for selection must
complete a request for information (RFI), which is available in
electronic format only from the email address below and must be
completed and returned no later than 12:00 UT Friday 10 December, 2004.
