AHDS Visual Arts is pleased to present its latest collection: "The City of
the Future". The City of the Future is a project that sets out to explore
contrasts between the familiarity of old city fabric, the strangeness of the
past, and the newness of present-day experience. With archive film of the
past century and other documents of urban experience in literature and so
on, it will develop a critique of present-day and possible future spatial
experience.
A database of selected film titles (nearly all held by the UK's National
Film and Television Archive) is updated periodically and is available to
download from AHDS Visual Arts: http://vads.ahds.ac.uk/collections/CF.html
The City of the Future is a research project at the Royal College of Art,
London, supported by the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB).
Patrick Keiller is an AHRB Fellow in the Creative and Performing Arts at the
Royal College of Art, a partner institution in the AHRB Centre for British
Film and Television Studies.
