Information Librarian

To work within the team of Information Librarians to provide research, learning and teaching support to a range of departments chiefly located within the Faculty of Social Sciences. Duties include acting as subject specialist contact, developing user induction and information skills training, including innovative electronic training packages and information delivery services, dealing with specialist enquiries, literature searching, assisting with selection of stock and electronic services, and promoting the use of information resources.
Applicants should hold an honours degree or a postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information science, or equivalent, and have recent experience of working with information in an academic or similar environment. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, an excellent communicator, work well both within a team and on their own initiative, have highly-developed ICT skills, and have the ability to contribute with vision to the development of information services to support research, learning and teaching.
