Dear British Colleagues,
We value the more flexible databases and e-books which offer a file format
which is accessible to people with print disabilities. Also, they make it
possible to include passages in our electronically delivered courses,
rather than the entire article. Deakin is one of the largest Australian
suppliers of Distance Education and is committed to providing online
courses. We therefore negotiate for permission to copy segments and make
them available electronically. We have in place anti plagiarism checks;
we are trialing new software to assist plagiarism checking. Academic staff
must also take responsibility for detecting plagiarism.
