I think that a major reason for the lack of trust in current mainstream
politics is that Parliament and Downing Street look as though they
consist of lawyers giving the official line and playing word games,
rather than people who genuinely believe what they say. (Which is
because they *do* consist of lawyers...)
It's like that moment when the patient starts to complain, and you stop
relating to them as a human being and go into official mode: "I'm very
sorry that you are unhappy with the services provided by our practice,
please call at the Practice Manager's office on your way out to collect
a complaint form. Good day."
