Hi Ewan
I was impatient, but not that impatient. I've been back in and waited whilst
watching the scroll bar along the bottom. After 90 seconds of blue screen, I
still only had it half loaded, so went back to seeing patients.
5 minutes later I still have a blue screen half a scroll bar and an
invitation to install Quick Time from the trusted folk at Apple
Computer.com, which I've chosen not to do.
I've now got their opening screen and headlines but no video, presumably
because I didn't allow it to install Quicktime.
Mike

I hadn't explored the link to Passion.com! I'm more interested if you can
access the streaming video which provides as news service for British Sign
Language Users.
Out here, after a brief pause while QuickTime fills it buffers, I get people
signing in BSL.
I'm involved in a project for the National Deaf Mental Health Service
(Birmingham). Firstly they would like to be able to access this service for
legitimate NHS purposes and secondly they would like to use the technology
to communicate with service user whose "mother tounge" is BSL. IT works fine
on the public Internet but not within their unit. I'm interested in knowing
if this restriction is Local or NHS Net wide.
I'm also interested to talk to those responsible for NHS Net, N3 and NHS IT
policy more widely about how they plan to ensure services are available to
Deaf staff and service users.

If by work, you mean a blue screen with a logo top left that takes you to
Passion.com and an invitation to seek a man or a woman, then yes. Which
shall I put you down for? Mike www.equip.ac.uk
