Odd. I've never heard of the GMC referring its own case on (presumably to
the administrative or high court?). That's like a tribunal
appealing against its own decision. Do you mean the CRHP? That is a separate
outfit set up by HMG because they felt the GMC was too lenient on
doctors.....
I have no access to DNUK tonight so cannot see the basis for the statement
of Outraged of Sheffield
NB Doctors on the register are liable to investigation by the GMC. If they
have
given up practice they can come off the register and are not under its
jurisdiction. Any doctor on the register can practise at any time.
