A patient asked me how she can prevent a doctor at her previous practice
from seeing the records they still have about her on their practice
computer. She left the practice because this partner was joining & was
someone she knew personally and didn't get on with. Although her paper
records will
transfer of course there is a historical computer record. I have suggested
she write to the doc she was previously registered with to formally say
that she does not want anyone to have access to this information without
her express authority (& get the doc to confirm this) and also say that she
would be content if they agreed to delete all the information they hold on
their computer about her.
I'd be interested in views of others.
