Just rejoined the thread had to add my favourite read codes
Death due to space vehicle accident as part of the ground crew or the same
but as part of the space craft crew.
Try to find Fall and you get all the modes and places you might fall from
but not fall.
Why do can we not find "
head pain"
And when I tried to enter that a patient "refused" a form of treatment the
first read code was for Refuse collector another regularly medically
important diagnosis.
But read codes have nothing on Multilex drug dictionary which is produced by
a branch of the Hearst corporation from the States. I have yet to find out
what pharmaceutical interests this group have but the dictionary has an
order of medication which raises my suspicions on their motives, apart from
my guile at the crass method which makes most dressings and diabetic
products impossible to find.
I cannot imagine that a more inept method for listing drugs and appliances
could be found but of course we all have to use it as our soft ware
providers are too lazy to produce something usable.
Surely the e BNF producers could bring out a rival product which would be
infinitely more attuned to medics minds and not biased by drug companies.
The profits could be used in a way to help pay for the NHS as well.
