Have you tried inspecting the performance of your PC with the Windows
Task Manager?
Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL, then click the Task Manager button. If your CPU usage
is up near 100% you've got a computer-hog using up all your processor
time. Click on the "Processes" tab, and click the top of the "CPU"
column to get the processes in order of CPU usage (you may need to click
twice to get it in descending order). You should be able to find out
what's taking up all the time, but be a little cautious about killing
processes - it's probably best to use Google to find out what the
apparently faulty process is doing before exacting summary justice!
