Thanks for all the feedback on reimbursement rates for GPs from the
London and Southern cluster for attending the Best Practice Process
Design Groups. This was passed on and discussed at the monthly LMC/NPfIT
meeting today. There has been a better uptake of GPs for the primary
care workgroup. Lin Horley agreed to revise the reimbursement rate from
450 (which was intended to include locum cover) plus expenses, to locum
rates plus expenses where the overall figure exceeds 450. The original
figure had been based on London locum rates which whilst still variable
appear to be less than those for the Southern counties. Not a perfect
solution I know, but an improvement.

Interesting, I hope there is a mechanism to ensure this is paid to the
trust and not to the consultant (unless of course they have taken annual
leave).
