Whole shit load of ordinary stuff (antibiotics, pain killers, Ranitidine I
think, certainly PPIs) not licenced for kiddies. RCPCH publish a kind of BNF
type thing which basically says these doses are used in most big paeds
places so stick to these and you have a good legal defence. Not that I lose
any sleep about such but I do think that ordinary meds which have been
around longer than I have been a doctor should, by now, have got a licence.
And since big pharma is unlikely to bother applying, I think it behoves HMG
to sort it out.
