I know what you mean David and yet, and yet...
The young are always revolting. When I was a trainee some 20 years ago I
visited a non-training practice where I was firmly told that trainees
were just sausages being produced by a machine. I may have my faults,
but being a sausage is not one of them.
Many of the Registrars who pass through our practice are fine doctors,
who are at least as keen on graft as I was at their stage. And if they
are not prepared to work themselves to death, they are showing good
sense. There will always be good docs, mediocre docs and bad docs, and
the current furore of revalidation, appraisal and collecting
competencies like Scout badges will not change that.
