> a TV documentary that was positive about GPs
In 50 minutes it depicted the vast range of general practice very well. Maybe doctors on TV do appear impossibly good, but the essence was that this is a difficult job and the imposed changes are making it harder at the moment. Xavier .. was optimistic yet realistic and his efforts to guide the practice and the PCT were impressive. I hope the next one will give a broader view of the support staff since it is called"The Practice" and not just "The Doctors".
I felt so sorry for the young lad in his numerous attendances - why on earth did the whole family accompany him everywhere - what teenage boy would want his lttle sister in on the consultation??
It was a good conversation point with my younger "unsure about doing medicine" daughter and it should be shown to GP trainees before they start the course.
