I do understand your concerns but doubt if you have enough info yet to
be sure that mum has done anything worth complaining about. The fact
that she knew the blood tests had been done suggests that the daughter
shared the details of consultation with her. Surely you need to have a
chat with the daughter to see if she has any concerns.
When I read about this type of problem I try and convert it to a
personal scenario. If I had had bloods done and my wife had access to
the Path Labs data would I be concerned that she had tapped into it do
get me the results earlier than I would have them from my GP? The
answer for me is No.
As far as accessing them from the Ward Path Links computer then I don't
see the problem. If we do bloods and then the Pt gets admitted via a
999 call it is sensible for the ward to be able to access our results
without reference to us.
