Hmm.
I suppose it isn't giving much away to say that the high-tech software
department of DIN has been working along those lines for a few months
now - the general idea is that if I want the full functionality (like
my government IT system) with Adrian's sort of confidentiality, ie
keeping the confidence in the consulting room, I would need to have a
very good but separate system costing little or nothing, with all the
GP stuff but absolutely no NHS net connectivity. The records could be
kept on the GP's local hard drive or given to the patient on a smart
card - it doesn't much matter technically.
This would allow the GP to cater for the 'just between ourselves'
patients and still make proper notes - just for the doctor and the
patient.
What does the team think?
Kind regards,
Paul
