Casting spot on in my view
2 nd film the best ( and a credit to the director given the second books
difficult structure )
3rd (ROTK) book made me cry in a way that the film didn't - but I'm an old
southern softie

Well, finally got around to seeing this film this afternoon.
Quite spectacular - never seen anything like it on screen before. Amazing
fx.
But... well... basically, one very long battle, innit?
There were some quiet interludes, to break up the decaptitation scenes, and
it was a good finale, but not a terrific film on its own merits, but then I
don't suppose anyone thinks or believes it ought to be considered on its own
merits.
It'll be interesting to see how long it takes the cinemas to start showing
all three at once.
