Generally, teh responses were what I had expected.
I often encounter incredulity when explaining my employment/holiday
situation to non-medic friends (and some non-GP medic friends who don't
understand why I can't just book six weeks leave a year and swan off.
I employ the corner-shop-owner analogy but most non-medics can't understand
why a SH GP isn't that much different from a corner-shop-owner.
I've taken 2.5w leave in the last 12m and paid the paltry sum of £3600 to a
friend who acted as my locum.
An acquaintance mentioned that she had heard of some kind of PCT financial
assistance for SHers (unlikely I know, but I thought I'd ask).
