I have some good excel graphs somewhere which illustrates the problems with bias when using a mercury sphyg vs a digital one. Essentially the digital sphyg gives a normal distribution, whereas those using mercury have their favourite readings which, of course, vary from person to person. I can dig them out (probably) if you want to see them.
