Of course this is possible.
However many GPs start, and move our families, on the basis of 6 months
mutual assessment. This is how we start our staff as well, though the
period is usually only 3 months.
Only once have we had to terminate a contract of employment because of a
failure at this stage (which is different to not having the money available
of course), but no redundancy or other compensation was payable. We of
course took detailed advice.
Of course it's sensible for Jen to get advice, but unless there was a clear
written contract, signed by all parties in advance, it may be that the best
advice is to move on. In health care it's a job seekers market just
now. Enjoy that.
Sounds pretty horrible, and all sympathies in this.
