Today we have already had misinterpretation by our local agency about
the definition of 'closed' versus 'full' lists.
Our understanding is that the new contract definition of 'closed' list
applies purely to the issue of allocations.
That we can still refuse to take on new patients providing there are no
discriminatory grounds. Our case is that we have a 'full' above average
list size and we are currently a couple of staff down. There are other
supporting circumstances. We have a written explanation, that we will
issue to those applying to the list, outlining the reasons for not
taking new patients.
We have NOT applied to 'Close' the list'
What are others doing?
