An absolute doddle, my 11 yr old son particularly enjoyed making (and eating) them:
1 cup water
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cups white flour (+ a bit for sprinkling)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp granulated sugar
1 tsp dried yeast
Put in the bread maker on dough cycle
When done, take out and knock back, divide into 6 - 10 (depending how big you want your pittas) and shape into balls
Cover with cling film and rest for 10 mins. Preheat oven to 230 C/450 F/Gas 8. Put baking sheets in to warm
Flatten each ball and roll into an oval about 5mm thick
Sprinkle with flour and leave 10 mins to rest
Put on baking sheet in oven 5-6 mins (If you have a glass fronted oven watch them swell and go brown!)
Take out and cool on a rack.
Enjoy with Humus/Taramasalata etc
Cheers Geoff
