Appraisal - This allocation covers funding for appraisal for GMS
practices. Over time the aim is to pay this as part of the global sum.
PCT allocations are in column B of

I have had sight of an e-mail to a Sheffield PCT from the DoH as a
response to a question asking about appraisal funding.
Apparently GS or MPiG includes funding for appraisal and as PMS
practices have to be treated the same and the PMS uplift includes
appraisal funding, there will be no separate funding next year.
Why has this not been widely known? Appraisal costs are a minimum of
£250 per doctor, many areas pay £500. Out of a 3% uplift this is a
significant amount. Has this been made clear to all practices during
their contract negotiations, is it itemised in the MPIG?
Can the GPC comment please?
