If there is no paper in the printer it will seem to have been printed.
If the printer is switched off and the person who printed the script
logs off I strongly suspect that the printer spooler is cleared without
the script being produced.
We get this sort of query several times per week.
I have never bothered to try and unravel it as there is a repeat print
option that reprints without recording it as such
