As always, if it is not in GMS then the simple answer is to send an invoice
to the requesting authority (PCT, Education Authority etc..) asking them to
authorise and pay prior to the work being done.
It really is that simple - the work either goes away (75% of the time), or
you get paid.
I recently got asked to do some pre-op work on a patient to save sending him
all the way to Edinburgh for the stuff (12 lead, BP, urninalysis,
phlebotomy). I faxed the actue trust a pro-forma saying 'not GMS, £95
please' and they signed it and faxed it back. Work done, fee paid.
