Applications are invited for this EPSRC-funded research post for three
years in the Environmental Tracers Laboratory of the Environmental
Engineering Research Centre, to carry out research and development related
to the use of carbon isotope systematics data within standard Risk
Assessment approaches for contaminated land and intrinsic
biodegradation/natural attenuation assessment of contaminants.
Applicants must have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in one of the following
areas: environmental chemistry, environmental engineering, environmental
physics, geology, geochemistry or hydrogeology. Relevant experience in a
project using environmental/isotopic tracers and field applications, and
the following analytical techniques: GC, GC-MS, IRMS and liquid
scintillation counting (LSC) is also essential. Additional criteria are

Salary scale: £21,012 - £22,956 per annum
