The post provides an opportunity for a talented individual to join an expanding group working on novel developments in the understanding and modelling of the DWI signal and of whole-brain anatomical white matter connectivity using probabilistic tract tracing methods. The work will be carried out within ISBE, which received a 5* rating in RAE 2001, and which has departmental expertise in imaging physics, image analysis, computer science, and radiology. We have usage of University imaging facilities, including state-of-the-art research-dedicated 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners, and close collaboration with neuroscience and clinical groups.
You should possess a good honours degree in a numerate or possibly biomedical discipline together with a PhD or equivalent research experience in a relevant discipline. Good computational skills and mathematical skills are essential requirements as are the abilities to work effectively as part of a research team and demonstrate good communication skills.
