Speaker
Robin Roos is the UK's leading independent JDO consultant. He has been
delivering consulting and training in JDO and Domain Object Modelling since
the publication of JDO 1.0, and is a member of the expert group responsible
for the JDO specification. He is actively engaged in the JDO 2.0 process
with a particular focus on object-relational mapping. Robin is the author of
the book "Java Data Objects", published by Addison-Wesley.
Robin graduated from Rhodes University in 1989 with Honours in Computer
Science and University Academic Colours. He worked with relational databases
and fourth generation languages before moving into object orientation, first
with Forte, and then with Java in 1997. Intrigued by the object-relational
impedance mismatch he has worked with a variety of Java persistence
technologies, standard and enterprise, before joining the JDO expert group
in 2000 to help formulate the JDO 1.0 standard.
