Graham,
(this might be of interest to others ... hence the cc email to the list).
If you'd like an update of QM Designer Mathletics, I can easily send you one (just ask), but I will put you on the mail list for info about the new stuff when it comes out (by Xmas I hope).
One thing you might want to know about is my popular (over 60,000 hits) Study Skills Guide for Science and Technology students at:
http://www.brunel.ac.uk/~mastmmg/ssguide/sshome.htm
(As a result of this, I am a big name amongst Health Studies students in Orkney for some strange reason! )
This could be of interest to your students and staff - perhaps you can advertise it to them at Warwick? There's also a new section for UCAS applicants on filling in the personal statement that's attracting a lot of interest.
Best wishes,
Martin

Ah yes Martin. I just had coffee with Trevor Hawkes here at Warwick who reminded me of your work and sent me away with a slip of paper upon which your name was written! I think we met many years back bit I could not recall your name.

Dear Folks
Anyone is welcome to my 4600 maths questions written in QM Designer. It works but ...
for mathematics and questions with mathematical content, the use of random parameters is useful in MathML and SVG expressions. This then results in many millions of question realisations. See:
1. "Pedagogic issues in setting online questions" MSOR Connections Volume 3, Number 4: Nov 2003. with D Nichols & M Gill.
Available on http://ltsn.mathstore.ac.uk/newsletter/vol3.shtml#no4
2. "Setting objective tests in mathematics using QM Perception" 8th CAA Conf, Loughborough, July 2004 with M Gill.
3. "Setting objective tests in linear algebra using QM Perception" MSOR Connections Volume 4, Number 3 Aug 2004, with E Martin.
(will be) available on http://ltsn.mathstore.ac.uk/newsletter/vol4.shtml#no4
for details. I am now developing this system and it will be freely available soon (will email this group). It's a big job though so collaboration is welcomed!
