Leicester is due to host the Loxbridge / AMPAH conference next year, and already I'm having sleepless nights because of the high standard set by Manchester and Nottingham.
There's a feeling that the name should change, but no consensus on what the new name should be. 'Dave' was the most popular choice at the curry house in Manchester, but we might have trouble getting that by the grown-ups. So we're looking for suggestions for a name suitable for a national ancient history post-grad meeting. Suggestions I've had so far are:
AMPAH: The Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient History (used for the Nottingham conference)
Foxbridge
SWAN: The Symposium Without A Name
Change the name each year for each host (we're hoping to set up a central website to pass on the next host, otherwise this suggestion would have buried problem)
there's another one I've got, but we're checking to see if that's a viable candidate. Conference for Research by Ancient Postgraduates isn't.
Anyway suggestions / comments are welcome to [log in to unmask]
I'll email the list the all the suggestions and then you can pass along a vote / comment to pick a name.
Cheers,
Alun
