Hello Stefanie,
I am currently in Ethiopia and have only sporadic access to email. Please
excuse this intrusion if the question has already been answered. I believe
Percival in "The Wheat Plant" mentions 3-grained emmer, and I seem to recall
reading about these forms in more recent publications, but they do not come
to mind. I have seen all three types growing in fields in Ethiopia even in
depauperate conditions. Farmers say the proportion of 1-grained forms
increase under poor conditions.
Regards,
Cathy
