I have found that a lot of firms are distinctly predatory. I have had at
least 7 cases in the last couple of weeks from small businesses having
the threat of 'compliance or closure' thrust upon them, mainly from
firms or agents selling lifts! I also have the other issue to deal with
- that of disabled people threatening the shops with court and closure..
Much confusion and upset at the moment is being caused.
I have not yet found an example of good practice, apart from those firms
who just advertise their products, rather than put a threatening strap
line into the text of the advert.
I do sometimes feel like a bit of a fire brigade.
Rob

Subject: Re: [ACCESSIBUILT] DDA Logbook
Haven't seen the logbook but am getting increasingly worried about the
near scare tactics of some of the commercial organisations looking for
work. Phrases such as ' As such DDA could be seen as a threat to your
business' are not only incorrect (in intention if not in a strict
grammatical sense as the word could is included) but put service
providers on the defensive as a starting point which can't be good.
What are list members views on this and are there good examples of how
organisations are looking for work out there?
Paul
