We originally put on lots of "Look what is possible" sessions in one
form or another, but we are having much more success since we
took the "Let's examine your problems" approach.
Notionally at least, the Scheme of Work is the starting point, or
perhaps some aspect of classroom practice.
Then we explore areas where ILT might be helpful, listening carefully
to the teacher to identify areas of difficulty - usually of student
understanding of a topic or principle.
Then we can help them to implement the relevant techniques that
might help with the issue. The VLE is often, but not always, one of
these.
The advantage is that you spend more of your time doing things that
will actually get used in practice and the teacher invests a sense of
ownership in what is going on.
