I echo Terry Bucknell's comments. We have only ever had a single
subscription to EMBO J. By no stretch of the imagination are we a
large institution (about 700 staff). We are looking at a very steep
increase in price for EMBO. Several of our sister institutes are
cancelling EMBO J because of the enormous rise. I don't know where
Frank Gannon gets his 5% figure from. Yes, we too would prefer to be
able to choose whether or not to subscribe to a title, on the basis
of the level of demand from our researchers. .
