Hi Hazel and others,
As a member of the UKSG committee I can confirm that making sure the
relevant people knew about the impending move of Serials from
ingenta/ingenta select to MetaPress was of major concern to all those on the
committee, and that great effort was put into communicating this to the
relevant people, and avoiding the problems that some people are facing now.
As the institutional administrator for both ingenta select and ingenta, I
can confirm that the only messages I got was an email from Louise Tutton of
ingenta on the 12th December and a letter sent out to the main UKSG contact
in my institution on the 19th Nov, which luckily made its way to my desk. I
didn't get any of the monthly emails that were sent out from September
onwards. This leaves me asking the question, to whom were these emails sent?
As far as I can see they went into a black hole and were never seen again!
It's interesting to note that The Royal Society which has also recently
moved its journals to MetaPress, provided access information in advance to
MetaPress for users who were either already IP authenticated through its old
site or had an existing MetaPress account. This has worked well for us.
The Royal Society also made arrangements for subscribers to be able to
continue to access content from the old site, Ingenta Select/Ingenta for at
least a year, giving time for the changes to be made. This is an excellent
example of the good practice that is required when publishers change hosts.
Cheers
Lesley

Dear All
As joint editor of "Serials" I'd just like to underline the great effort we
went to in contacting all registered users of Serials who previously
accessed the journal at Ingenta. Emails were sent to subscribers every
three to four weeks from September with the final email mailed the first
week of January. Moreover, the July and November 2003 printed issues of
"Serials" had large announcements on the front cover saying we were
moving!
If Louise, and any other colleagues who may have been taken by surprise at
the move, would like to contact us we would be happy to migrate them now and
switch on their access. Taylor & Francis have volunteered to assist us
through this initial process and can be contacted via Debbie Marshall,

Dear all,
I see the UKSG journal, Serials, has moved to Metapress and has vanished
completely from Ingenta Select. Is anyone suffering from a lack of access
to full-text in its new home (ironic in this particular case!). Check at
http://uksg.metapress.com/.
