Apparently I was wrong. Here is the website: http://www.lemonde.fr/
The last 6 days are free to everyone. You may do a search and pay for
certain articles back to 1987. It seems that the price of 5 euros for 30
days or 60 euros for a year (see link below) refers to online access.
They did mention that archived articles contain no illustrations. It's a
very confusing website, even for those who understand French.
You may get access by using your subscriber code:
http://www.lemonde.fr/web/abopapier/1,28-0,1-0,0.html
They also offer "Grands Compts", (see link below), where they charge
according to how many people on your organization will be using it (it
sounds like they would set up individual access for the people in your
office). You fill out your info, and they will quote you a price. I
doesn't sound very library-friendly, and I doubt they would offer IP
access, but I don't know.
Hope this helps a little.

Doesn't this link enable one to subscribe to lemonde.fr?

Granted, I assume this is for individuals, not libraries.

Subject: Le Monde Online
Hi,
Has anyone in the UK managed to take out an institutional subscription
to Le Monde Online? If so, can you give me an idea of how much it has
cost? (please send this to me personally rather than the list if you
prefer it was confidential). Any other details such as mode of access,
subscription agent used (if relevant) etc. would also be very welcome.
We are trying to reduce our reliance on networked CD-ROMs to zero,
hence an attempt to convert to an online subscription. It looks like it
ought to be possible from the web pages, and you are encouraged to
contact them via an online form to ask for details about institutional
subscriptions, but I've had no reply as yet.
Best wishes,
Kate Price
