Interesting that all these examples are rich/poor
divisions, rather than the commercial/residential
division of up-town / down-town (if I read it right).
except left-bank / right bank in Paris and our attempt
to imitate in London with the 'south bank'. Isn't
this a cultural / commercial division? where would
Greenwich Village fit into the image?
