Hi Ben
Best of luck with the study.
I have worked as a tutor/facilitator with a solely online course at Masters
level here in Ireland. Any use?

Subject: online communication patterns
Dear Teaching Online List
I am just embarking on a PhD and as part of my initial user needs analysis
I am conducting short 5-10 minute interviews with people who have
experience of moderating/facilitating online discussions (both email and
web based).
My PhD, which I am undertaking part-time with the Open University's
Knowledge Media Institute (KMi) [http://kmi.open.ac.uk] is
entitled 'Computer Mediated Communication Patterns: representation and
interaction'. My research will examine the effectiveness of providing aural
and visual representations of an online communication space. I would be
happy to send you further information by way of the initial proposal if you
are interested.
The interviewees and any mention of specific discussion groups will of
course remain anonymous.
Please let me know if you can help me and we can then make the necessary
arrangements. If you aren't in a position to help I wonder if you might be
able to pass this request on to others who you think are suitable.
I am hoping to conduct the interviews this week. The interviews will
ideally be conducted by telephone or possibly using MSN Messenger audio (to
save on telephone costs).
Yours in anticipation,
Ben Hyde
