Gail (and anyone else who is interested),
I haven't used Keyword AAA in the private sector, but I have used it in
Parliament, and I did once work in the private sector. As far as I know,
there is no reason why it couldn't be purchased for use in the private
sector. The functions (top level keywords) represented in KAAA are
mostly generic - things like Financial Management, Personnel,
Information Management, Technology and Telecommunications. So I suspect
that most of it would transfer fairly easily to the private sector. As
very few people in the UK have adopted it so far, I'd be surprised if
there were any private industry users here, but you could try one of the
Australian listservs, which might be more productive, as it is much more
established there. Caroline Shenton and I recently produced a paper on
implementing Keyword AAA in the Houses of Parliament, so if you're
interested in a case study from this country, I'd (very modestly of
course) refer you to that (Journal of the Society of Archivists, Vol 24,
No 2, October 2003). There are one or two down sides (as with most
things) to the product, but as long as work is done to develop it for
local use, and a good training regime is introduced, it can be a very
useful tool.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Paul Gibbons,

Subject: Keyword AAA
Hi
Has anyone outside of the government sector/agencies used or adapted
Keyword AAA, more specifically anyone in the financial sector? Can those
of us outside of the government sector/agencies even purchase Keyword
AAA?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all!
Kind regards
Gail Bennion
