JOHN CAMPBELL TRUST 2004 AWARDS (first call)
Dissertation and Conference/Travel bursaries
For their first call of 2004, the Trustees are offering Awards
in the following category:
* Conference/Travel Bursaries: This Award is intended to help
a member of the information profession to attend a conference of
his/her choice, and/or to undertake a programme of visits. The
Award is open to a resident of the UK or Eire for travel outside
the British Isles.
* Dissertation Bursaries: This Award is intended to help a
student of information/library studies in the UK or Eire, who has
to prepare a project or dissertation as part of his/her course of
study, to pursue a topic which would necessarily require a
programme of visits for the collection of information or data.
The maximum value for an individual award is 1000 pounds. The
Trustees may make awards to a maximum total of 4000 pounds.
The closing date for these competitive Awards is 30 January 2004.

The John Campbell Trust was established as an independent charitable
trust through the bequest of the late Dr John Campbell, an early
member of the Institute of Information Scientists. Its purpose is
to further the education and development of information professionals
through grants, scholarships, research or travel awards, and thereby
to enhance the knowledge and experience of the information community
as a whole.
